How to create new *.tapf Profile from Scratch
You can create new Profile manually changing default Profile or any other Profile you like.
To hear the sound you get, you can plug the guitar or load Direct Input from the guitar to the Player.
To plug the guitar make JACK connections like that:
Then press Monitor Mode button on the Player Panel. Adjust Input Level to -20 dB. To load Direct Input file press Load DI and Reference files button, then select files in the dialog that appears. If you don’t need Reference file, select DI file twice.
tubeAmp Processor model has 5 components:
1. PreAmp Filter. Equalizer BEFORE any distortion. It defines the structure and type of the distortion sound. How to work with it:
- Add point by double-click on the graph.
- Active (current editing) point is highlighted.
- Delete current point by right-click.
- Move current point by drag with left mouse button.
- You can load / save corresponding impulse response to *.wav file.
- Enable / Disable - quick switch to compare sound with / without equalizer.
- When editing is complete, press Apply. Equalization will be integrated into *.tapf Profile.
2. PreAmp Parameters. Adjust nonlinear function of the Preamp here and preamp gain.
3. ToneStack. Parameters of the Tonestack. Rotate Bass, Middle, Treble on the tubeAmp Panel to see how your tonestack works on the graph.
- 4. PowerAmp Parameters. Adjust nonlinear function of the Power Amp here and it’s gain. Adjust PowerAmp Parameters -> MASTER OUTPUT LEVEL until the Output Level on the indicator is -20 dB. The indicator has no numeric scale so simply do as shown in the picture :)
- 5. Cabinet. Equalizer AFTER all distortion. Correction of the cabinet impulse response. It plays a crucial role in the timbre forming. Correction can be achieved by Auto Equalization with any reference sound! Read more in Auto Equalizer Guide.
